 Private dressage instruction is offered by Susan Selvey. Susan is an FEI-level competitor who has earned her Qualified Rider Award (1993) and the Bronze (1996) and Silver (2000) Medals from the United States Dressage Federation (USDF). She and her Hanoverian Tal-Shaya have trained and competed through FEI Grand Prix. For over twenty years, Susan has instructed students from the Introduction of the Horse to the Rider to the Prix St. George level.
Susan is an SCDCTA certified judge through FEI PSG level.

BACKGROUND: Susan attended the USDF Instructor's Training Workshop in Tallahassee, Fl. and has trained with the following instructors: 1982 Kathy Daly, 1985 Charlotte Trentleman and August Gruen, 1990 Harriet Peterson, 1994 Susie Wiedman, 1998 Stacy Shetkoe, and 2000 Carol Bishop. Susan competes exclusively in dressage now but has also shown cutting horses, hunters, jumpers and eventing. She has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and has used this education teaching horsemanship to physically and mentally challenged children. She has served as the "D" and "C" level examiner for the Charleston Pony Club and as clinician for the Charleston, PeeDee and LowCountry Pony Clubs and the Wachesaw Equestrian Center. She is retired from a 22 year career as an Air Traffic Controller.
FEI SCHOOLMASTER: Susan's FEI trained horse, Tal-Shaya, is available to qualified students as a schoolmaster.
